This term we have been learning all about endangered species, prompted by the Eric Carle book ‘Panda Bear Panda Bear, what can you see?’ During this theme, a group of children found a stag beetle in the nursery garden, which at first we thought was dead (it was on its back and not moving!) but after monitoring it for a while, it was very clear that the stag beetle was alive! When we explained that stag beetles are endangered, the children were fascinated and we researched it to find out more. We logged it on the stag beetle page; https://stagbeetles.ptes.org/take-part-in-the-great-stag-hunt/. If you find any stag beetles when you are out and about, please record your findings using the link above.
